Our Commitment to Authentic Wilderness Adventures

GET TO KNOW TETON WILDERNESS TOURS

Teton Wilderness Tours was born of an idea to be different. As a collective of passionate naturalists and outdoor recreators, we have spent much time exploring the world through that lens, especially in our own backyard! It is our desire to custom tailor every trip that we do to the specific desires and parameters of each group that we take. We offer a wide variety of activities in a way that allows travelers to a-la-carte put together an itinerary that meets their personal interests.

That evolution has made us part owners in Wilderness Trails Outfitters. As such we are honored to be a part of the this Wyoming outfitter’s storied legacy in Yellowstone, The John D. Rockefeller Jr. Memorial Parkway, and of course, our namesake Teton Wilderness. This is how we offer our experiences that take you deeper – millions of acres deeper – on our horseback riding adventures.

It is our goal to provide our clients with a one-of-a-kind experiences in the our beautiful corner of the world. We are constantly evolving, with a desire to offer unique experiences to our guests as our driving force.

“One of those partners is Teton Wilderness Tours As someone who’s been on multiple wildlife safaris across Jackson Hole, I still found the Après-Ski Wildlife Tour to be a refreshing take on the classic tour. The 2.5-hour experience is designed so guests can spend the morning skiing, but still fit in some of the best sights in the area. My guide, Gus, picked me up at the Hoback Club in an SUV equipped with snacks, warm drinks, water, and binoculars. Even in that condensed time frame, I was able to see elk, moose, coyotes, bald eagles, and bighorn sheep.” –Lydia Mansel

Brett Hellstrom

Brett is a great lover of ecosystems. For as long as he can remember, he has been fascinated with wildlife. His professional education is in biology, but his passion lies in learning everything he can about the complex pieces of an ecosystem. He is a life-long learner of wildlife biology and ecology, as well as earning his biology degree from University of Utah. He has worked studying wildlife throughout the American west, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Turkey. Brett’s specialty is to connect you to this place, to help you find your place in the ecosystem, and to show how all things are intricately connected so that you come away with an appreciation for this incredibly unique place on Earth. He moonlights as a guide in Africa where he also holds a tracking certification, and spends as much time exploring the rest of the world’s ecosystem as possible.

Gus Davis

Gus moved to Jackson in 2015 after graduating from University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in Environmental Science. After seeing the Tetons for the first time, moving was a very easy decision. He has been guiding throughout the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem since 2017; his motivation and passion for the job comes from being able to expose people to the truly unique amount of wildlife in our ecosystem. From high alpine adventures to kayaking the Snake River, Gus does it all in his free time, soaking up all the activities this corner of the world holds.

Neil Moore

Guiding since 2016, Neil has a depth to his passion for wildlife and the landscapes where they live that is without parallel. Neil grew up in San Francisco, CA. His interest in the outdoors grew from surfing, rock climbing, and working on a search and rescue team. He found his home in the Rockies when he moved to Montana to obtain his wildlife biology degree. From polar bears and mountain lions to moose and mule deer, Neil worked on a variety of wildlife research projects before moving to Jackson. On the side he guided backpacking and rock climbing trips around the west and that’s where his passion for guiding began.

You would be hard pressed to find a guide who knows these mountains better, or who has gone to greater lengths to find wildlife. You might think you hear echoes of the late great Steve Irwin from the great beyond when Neil is on the scene at a wildlife sighting.
